Because it's Monday, I'm bored and I don't have a job.

one neck good, two necks ... even better!

Jeff W, Monday, 28 January 2008 13:26 (eighteen years ago)

What about the voice of Geddy Lee
How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?
I know him and he does
Well, you're my fact-checking cuz

Miki didn't have a song about her, so Rush win.

I thought "El Scorcho" was about Miki?

kind of sad that neither band has covered "tush" or "hush"

or, for that matter, "Push" by the Cure.

Alex in NYC, Monday, 28 January 2008 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

They both sound like mush to me.

NickB, Monday, 28 January 2008 16:49 (eighteen years ago)

my mom got me a neil peart travelogue book about touring by motorcycle...it's pretty good. i like it better than dave eggers.

M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

I'm reading Peart's "Traveling Music" right now. Great book, very hard to put down. Contrary to his image, he's very self-deprecating. He has very wide-ranging tastes in music too, and is thoughtful in his criticism.

No points given for first politically-incorrect "Engrish" joke.

At our school library we had an "Encyclopedia of Rock" with the singer from Lush on the front.

Bodrick III, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

This would be a real challenge if it was LUSH vs. RUSH vs. BUSH.

Jeff Treppel, Monday, 28 January 2008 21:05 (eighteen years ago)

I think the thread pretty much actively calls for references to Japanese pronunciation difficulties, and, being a former student of phonetics, I'm fascinated by the L and R issue.

I remember I once asked my Japanese ex if she liked Lush, and she asked: which one?

Daniel Giraffe, Monday, 28 January 2008 22:42 (eighteen years ago)

What a strange coincidence.
Only half an hour ago I was listening to an old CD compilation and up popped 'De Luxe ' from Lush - still sounds great to these ears.

Always liked Rush too apart from her vocals.

Seriously, when I was getting obese on a regular diet of Husker, I swear there was a similarity in some of the guitar play of Mould and Lifeson - and that Lush song 'De Luxe' had the same feel in the chorus. No, really!
