Just saw the (unconfirmed not yet final)lineup:

Team, Amadou & Mariam, The Black Angels, Sia, The Felice Brothers, K'Naan, Jason Isbell, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Alberta Cross, The Virgins, Black Kids, Mates of State, Duffy, Forro in the Dark, Nicole Atkins, Juana Molina, Little Brother, Rogue Wave, Neil Halstead and Your Vegas

This is taking place about four blocks away from my home and is going to be bonkers.

I'm kind of underwhelmed with the lineup so far. It's only a few blocks from my home as well and I'll likely go, but... sigh.

I'm 20 minutes away and was looking forward to going all 3 days. But this is really a disappointing lineup, to put it mildy.

If MBV play I'll go.

Since we had Tollett on the phone, we had to ask, even though we knew it was a stupid question: Any chance that one of the promised additions to the All Points West lineup might be My Bloody Valentine?

No. No chance at all.

This is a pretty dire lineup. Makes Coachella in Cali look grand by comparison.

im genuinely curious as to whether or not anyone actually likes more than 2 bands out of that first 8?

I'm genuinely curious if this isn't just a plot to lure NPR-listening 40-somethings to one spot for extermination.

I like Radiohead, Underworld, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Cat Power. That's gotta be at least 2.

Also, Amadou & Mariam are really great live.

All or 90% of the bands on the lineup have played at Coachella.

So: the West Coast rules, East Coast drools.

why does Jack johnson get to headline like every fucking festival this year

I'm also surprised that the more popular NYC area bands aren't showing up. I was all excited for this festival because I got engaged at Coachella a couple years ago, and APW is going to be on my one-year wedding anniversary, and it was going to be super party time. Now I'm all, "meh."

if i were there... i would've marked my calendar for Radiohead, Underworld, Animal Collective, Neil Halstead, the Black Angels, maybe Secret Machines but that's a stretch... i liked Cat Power a lot more about 5 years back. her live show these days is pretty dire.

oh yeah, definitely the Roots also. much better live than on record (usually).
