If this had been Beat Happening vs Celtic Frost I might have had to think about it for a bit. But Apocalyptic Raids doesn't really do it for me. And I love Beat Happening.

hellhammer. beat happening only had one song i really like. i should probably give them a chance again sometime because half of my dislike for them was from sitting through their set before fugazi at UCSB about 20 years ago.
also demon entrails is great.

Demon Entrails is fine a song or two at a time, but it's a fucking chore to get through. And I tried, a lot. (Never cared that much about the earliest Celtic Frost stuff either, to be honest; they don't kick in for me til To Megatherion.)
Always hated Beat Happening's guts, though.

Beat Happening have always had lots of haters for their twee sound, and Calvin's limited low voice and annoying mannerisms. I sometimes cut them slack only cuz I meat Calvin in '80 or so and his antics livened up a few New Years parties I attended, and we used to do music geek chatting about DC go-go records and stuff. I think he used to write for the awesome fanzine OP back then also.
