I want "The Weedy Burton" to win this in a walk.

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

"Seventeen Seconds" by just a little over "Sinking" for me.

nicky lo-fi, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

Also, I like imagining what it would have been like if all the closing songs were title tracks.

"I have my wild mood swings
They fill my heart with zings
Your look causes me stings
Ring-a-ding-dings."

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

I love Seventeen Seconds, but it has to be Faith.

MC, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

End is underrated too.

MC, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

"Seventeen Seconds".

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 17 May 2008 19:45 (eighteen years ago)

("The Lovecats" is better though)

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 17 May 2008 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

"The Top"

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 17 May 2008 20:22 (eighteen years ago)

"Seventeen Seconds"

wanko ergo sum, Saturday, 17 May 2008 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

"Faith".

Lostandfound, Saturday, 17 May 2008 20:32 (eighteen years ago)

Faith without even thinking about it

matt o, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

untitled

jergïns, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

It should have been "Going Nowhere" instead of "The Promise". JAPANESE IMPORTS FTW

HI DERE, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:16 (eighteen years ago)

End

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

I could wade in the synths on "Sinking." And the bassline!

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:46 (eighteen years ago)

I think "Untitled" will win this. For me it's between "Faith" and "Sinking". Can't decide yet.

LeRooLeRoo, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:50 (eighteen years ago)

untitled

akm, Saturday, 17 May 2008 22:53 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't heard them all, but End is one of my favorite Cure songs.

billstevejim, Sunday, 18 May 2008 05:11 (eighteen years ago)

Easily "The Top" for me, though hm, "sinking" is up there.

Trayce, Sunday, 18 May 2008 06:58 (eighteen years ago)

Untitled

baaderonixx, Sunday, 18 May 2008 09:56 (eighteen years ago)

untitled for me. but i also adore end and faith.

Charlie Howard, Sunday, 18 May 2008 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

If "Three Imaginary Boys" had been on here, this would have been even more impossible than it already is.

HI DERE, Sunday, 18 May 2008 12:51 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, I was just thinking that.

baaderonixx, Sunday, 18 May 2008 13:55 (eighteen years ago)

I'm listening to "Bare" right now. It's actually really good

baaderonixx, Sunday, 18 May 2008 13:56 (eighteen years ago)

Throwing a vote to "Bloodflowers," though I could easily vote for 5 or 6 others at any given time. "Bloodflowers" though, WOW.

stephen, Sunday, 18 May 2008 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

All of these songs are really good (except maybe "The Weedy Burton")

HI DERE, Sunday, 18 May 2008 18:05 (eighteen years ago)

OTM ^

stephen, Sunday, 18 May 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

"Untitled". At least now I don't feel as guilty for not voting for "Plainsong" on the opening tracks poll.

j-rock, Sunday, 18 May 2008 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

why didn't i post on this last night? i voted, though. "faith".

grimly fiendish, Sunday, 18 May 2008 22:54 (eighteen years ago)

I went to hear what "The Weedy Burton" sounds like on youtube and it came up with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbsfD_VYl-w

Curt1s Stephens, Sunday, 18 May 2008 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

Wow that's really weird. I don't remember a song called "The Weedy Burton" at all.

Sinking is the obvious choice for this poll.

Bimble, Sunday, 18 May 2008 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

But...Faith makes it difficult.

Bimble, Sunday, 18 May 2008 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

"Faith" edges "End", then again "The Top" a surprise #3. Smith's better opening albums than closing them.

cee-oh-tee-tee, Monday, 19 May 2008 14:56 (eighteen years ago)

err, not really.

baaderonixx, Monday, 19 May 2008 17:55 (eighteen years ago)

"Seventeen Seconds" for me, too. It's also my favorite album.

Dan S, Monday, 19 May 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

I am having a hard time deciding between "Faith", "Untitled" and "End".

HI DERE, Monday, 19 May 2008 19:26 (eighteen years ago)

another vote for "End" from me.

rockapads, Monday, 19 May 2008 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

am i the only one for "pornography" then?

though i could easily have gone for any of these...save fight, which i like, but

bb, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

i can't even recall how 'bare' sounds. that seems odd, given that i know practically every note of the opening track on that album

Charlie Howard, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

I want to vote for Untitled, but on second thought, I was always ooged out by the image of R. Smith pushing his face into something.

Seventeen Seconds it is.

kenan, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Friday, 23 May 2008 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

"Faith" without a doubt.

i went to a few (over 12) Cure shows in my day. on one night during the Kiss Me tour they were playing at the Forum in Los Angeles. well before their set some kid stood on a chair or jumped on stage and stabbed himself, i missed all that. the Cure finally came out on this night and played a real dark set and ended with about a 20 minute version of "Faith" that just left the crowd with their jaws on the ground. that wasn't even the best Cure show i saw but one of the most lasting shows i have ever seen.

Bee OK, Saturday, 24 May 2008 03:53 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Saturday, 24 May 2008 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

i like the "Faith" over "Untitled" semi-upset here!

stephen, Saturday, 24 May 2008 23:08 (eighteen years ago)

this makes it four out of four for me across the new order and cure polls :)

grimly fiendish, Saturday, 24 May 2008 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

Three votes for the Weedy Burton?! This is stupid

baaderonixx, Sunday, 25 May 2008 02:28 (eighteen years ago)

FAITH WINS@!@!!!!!!!
I LOVE IT@!!!
OH fuck I love ILM
oh man, I really love you folks

Bimble, Sunday, 25 May 2008 07:28 (eighteen years ago)

"Sinking" is a Queen song.

cee-oh-tee-tee, Sunday, 25 May 2008 12:13 (eighteen years ago)

four years pass...

I don't listen to it much but 'Sinking' is probably the ultimate Cure song.
