haha what??

gff, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:40 (eighteen years ago)

WE COMIN'! WE COMIN'!

I got they back they got my back and that's the way we always roll

(it's a fantasy league where you pick the songs you think that dylan will play the most during the tour, you pick from different tiers of songs, more common songs have lower point values than less likely songs...then there's a 20 point bonus round where you pick one 20 point wildcard from a list of EVERY song he's ever played in concert....kinda fun...like baseball nerd shit for dylan nerds)

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 22 May 2008 16:50 (eighteen years ago)

IS THIS THE TOUR HE WILL DO "FAREWELL ANGELINA"????! A zillion points, y'all.

tylerw, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

But srsly, is Bob doing the same general set as the last couple years so far? Any surprises? I saw him last year, and it was good, but nothing off the hook, you know? I think the best thing was "Nettie Moore." I was hoping for "Highlands."

tylerw, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

he seems to get in grooves of certain songs...but it's harder than you think...i did terrible last tour....he seems to have a pool of old songs he likes, then a core of stuff from Modern Times and Love & Theft....but he's weird, he'll sometimes warm up to a song he didn't play last tour and vice versa....

i think it was the last tour he played a song he'd NEVER played ever in like 40-50 years of shows, so you never know (can't remember what it was)

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

if i remember correctly he did "outlaw blues" (with Jack White) and he'd never done that live ever. WHEN IS "SAD EYED LADY OF THE LOWLANDS" GOING TO BE DEBUTED?!!!

tylerw, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:15 (eighteen years ago)

Funny that 'Modern Times' is already almost 2 years old now. My friend and I were discussing what Dylan's next move should be, and we decided: GET THIS BAND BACK TOGETHER -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKeUGhaVTAo&NR=1
With the same haircuts/fashion sense if possible.

tylerw, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

I was in 13th place the second night, but last night he broke out "Moonlight," WTF, Bob!

Douglas, Friday, 23 May 2008 04:33 (eighteen years ago)

oh shit looks like he's doing "Mississippi" and "Beyond the Horizon"! RARITIES, Y'ALL! AND HE'S IN RUSSIA.

tylerw, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 15:54 (eighteen years ago)

baaderonixx, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 15:58 (eighteen years ago)

i am number 2 in the WORLD as of today

jeffliu do you hear footsteps?

objects on the rearview mirror may be closer than they appear

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 19 June 2008 20:12 (seventeen years ago)

has anyone else heard anything about a new bootleg series coming out this fall? focusing on outtakes from 1989-2006? sounds SWEET.

tylerw, Thursday, 19 June 2008 20:20 (seventeen years ago)

no i didn't! where did you see that?

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 19 June 2008 20:22 (seventeen years ago)

here's where i first heard tell of it ...

not a great deal of info. just a bunch of dylan nerds hand-wringing.
would be neat, though! esp. the time out of mind outtakes!

tylerw, Thursday, 19 June 2008 20:34 (seventeen years ago)

just saw that dylan played "Handy Dandy" a couple nights ago -- first ever live performance! wow.

tylerw, Sunday, 29 June 2008 23:37 (seventeen years ago)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to announce that for today I am the greatest Dylan fantasy player in the entire world.

i think i'm going to pull a barry sanders and retire.

M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 30 June 2008 20:15 (seventeen years ago)

congrats

tylerw, Monday, 30 June 2008 21:02 (seventeen years ago)

one concert to go an i'm number one by 14 points. team is number 2 but *maybe* within striking distance.

c'mon BOB PLAY MOONLIGHT! that's our 20 pointer!

M@tt He1ges0n, Friday, 11 July 2008 16:33 (seventeen years ago)

I'm embarrassed to say I am envious of your hobby and wish I knew more about Dylan or there was something like this for an artist I was more into.

some dude, Friday, 11 July 2008 16:34 (seventeen years ago)

i'm embarrassed how much fun i have with this haha, it's kinda pathetic but awesome.

it would be hard to do it with most groups...maybe you could have with like phish or the dead when they were going...but dylan's like the only old dude that tours constantly and has a HUGE backlog of material and actually does a wide selection and changes from night to night...

M@tt He1ges0n, Friday, 11 July 2008 16:43 (seventeen years ago)

yeah exactly... I was thinking maybe Pearl Jam, they mix up their setlists a lot, but they still have a lot of old standbys and nowhere near as many songs as Dylan.

some dude, Friday, 11 July 2008 16:44 (seventeen years ago)

PJ might be good...like Petty or someone could but i get the sense he does a pretty standard set for the most part, whereas dylan is super unpredictable. i remember last tour one date he did a song he'd never done before in his whole career live and then has never done it again.

M@tt He1ges0n, Friday, 11 July 2008 17:02 (seventeen years ago)

was gonna say Neil Young on his last tour you could do this but I think he only changed up the acoustic part .... the electric songs not so much

dmr, Friday, 11 July 2008 17:08 (seventeen years ago)

Springsteen changes up his set list a lot, other than the songs on the album he's touring behind.

Eazy, Friday, 11 July 2008 17:12 (seventeen years ago)

i remember dylan played rochester MN the day that modern times debuted at number one...then didn't play any songs off that record
