Does anyone know anything about Akemi Kuniyoshi-Kuhn (weird jazz/modern classical pianist)

picked up a vinyl copy of her album Motion-e-Motion yesterday and can find very little about her at all...this album is on some obscure UK label from 85 or 86...

musically it's four pieces of solo piano....I can't really tell where she fits in on the modern jazz/modern classical axis. takes elements of both...

it's sort of diffuse and dreamlike....reminds me of satie/debussy but through more of a jazz ECM type filter...

either she's one hell of an improvisor, or she writes really oddly structured works...or operates with some type of mix between improv and composition....

anyone know anything about her? I found one thing on allmusic (no bio, just another album review)...I guess she's Japanese British ex-pat....google wasn't too helpful other than ebay auctions of the album i bought and an entry in The Wire's database but with no info.

anyway i'm really digging it and would like to know more.

yes, I have the album "Motion-e-Motion" on Leo, it's great and has recently been my soundtrack for re-reading Watchmen.

one year passes...

If you're still looking?
In the 1980s Akemi was part of Coherents - a quintet.
There are two recordings - K'tah, a cassette: and Red Shift an LP.
Details here at Discogs

I've got copies available if you're interested.
