btw i am refusing to vote in this on the grounds of ridiculous impossibility.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 31 May 2008 05:25 (eighteen years ago)

the first 11 are all the greatest song ever recorded, and the ones after that aren't bad.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 31 May 2008 05:28 (eighteen years ago)

Tipsy OTM, but I managed to vote for "Rock the Bells."

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Saturday, 31 May 2008 06:43 (eighteen years ago)

Going Back To Cali
Jingling Baby
Mama Said Knock You Out
Doin' It

I realize I respond to all these polls like this but oh fuck

The Reverend, Saturday, 31 May 2008 06:55 (eighteen years ago)

I'll go with "Jinglin'", just cause I've heard it most recently.

The Reverend, Saturday, 31 May 2008 07:07 (eighteen years ago)

"I'm That Type of Guy" is very missing from this.

The Reverend, Saturday, 31 May 2008 07:07 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Saturday, 31 May 2008 07:10 (eighteen years ago)

That got played a lot on my hometown radio even in the mid-'90s when he was hitting with "Doin' It" and all that stuff.

I wish I had seen him a couple of years ago when he played the Showbox in Seattle. Saw him and even met him before, but that show had to have killed and I WASN'T THERE.

I hear it occasionally (along with a bunch of the rest of this stuff) on kube's old school hour. I approve of the use of suggestively empty space and "breakfast, lunch, dinner, and breakfast" and winged monkey chants.

The Reverend, Saturday, 31 May 2008 08:24 (eighteen years ago)

"defrost it and season it" <-- weirdest euphemism ever

The Reverend, Saturday, 31 May 2008 08:39 (eighteen years ago)

ok i think i've settled on "cali." it's kind of a rosetta stone of cool.

tipsy mothra, Saturday, 31 May 2008 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

"Jingling Baby", been in my head all week so I voted for it

Euler, Saturday, 31 May 2008 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

jingling bump

tipsy mothra, Monday, 2 June 2008 13:16 (eighteen years ago)

is the "rock the bells" on this the 12" or lp version?

I'm probably voting for "jack the ripper" anyway but just thought to ask

I once did "i'm bad" karaoke in tokyo

tokyo, japan

I highly recommend this

Edward III, Monday, 2 June 2008 14:12 (eighteen years ago)

it's the single edit, not the 12-inch. more's the pity.

tipsy mothra, Monday, 2 June 2008 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Monday, 2 June 2008 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

The-Reverend (rev), Friday, 10 April 2009 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

f'r real tho

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Friday, 10 April 2009 21:09 (seventeen years ago)

yes

Bostin' Legal (sic), Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:02 (seventeen years ago)

godspeed = 90 votes
LL = 8 votes
ILM = you suck

鬼の手 (Edward III), Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:08 (seventeen years ago)

obv. this album is great and I stand by my "Jingling Baby" vote but despite the awesomeness of everything on it I keep noticing what's missing; for instance it badly lacks "Six Minutes of Pleasure" which is an utterly excellent LL slow jam. Ridiculous turn-out, I blame it on the start of summer or something (or maybe he's not big in the UK?).

Euler, Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:42 (seventeen years ago)

i was out of the country and offline when this poll happened but it's not like 1 more vote would've helped the turnout that much. wtfffffffffffff

far beyond steendriven (some dude), Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:50 (seventeen years ago)

The poll was pitched and done in like 24 hours, I don't even remember fucking seeing it, let alone voting in it.

I would have voted for "Rock The Bells"

Whiney G. Weingarten, Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:52 (seventeen years ago)

yeah but put up a Pablo Honey poll for 24 hours and it'd get more votes than this

far beyond steendriven (some dude), Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:53 (seventeen years ago)

i would vote for Rock The Bells too. or Jinglin or Mama Said or Around The Way or Doin' It.

far beyond steendriven (some dude), Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:54 (seventeen years ago)

i hate to say it but 2nd place for me...

Whiney G. Weingarten, Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:56 (seventeen years ago)

i was at the mall, sippin on a milkshake... playin the wall, takin a break

Whiney G. Weingarten, Saturday, 11 April 2009 01:57 (seventeen years ago)

The poll was pitched and done in like 24 hours, I don't even remember fucking seeing it, let alone voting in it.

i know, i thought 3 days would be enough for an LL poll. like, i thought it would be all, "fuck yeah LL!"

oh well.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:16 (seventeen years ago)

also this ...

or maybe he's not big in the UK?

... might be true. i don't know.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:17 (seventeen years ago)

Why were "I'm That Type of Guy" and "Six Minutes of Pleasure" omitted?

I'm crossing over into enterprise (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:38 (seventeen years ago)

mighta got a vote if i'd-a seen this

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:44 (seventeen years ago)

don't call it a comeback!

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:50 (seventeen years ago)

if Tom Morello woulda called him instead of Cornell...

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Saturday, 11 April 2009 03:53 (seventeen years ago)

OTM

Whiney G. Weingarten, Saturday, 11 April 2009 04:14 (seventeen years ago)

Why were "I'm That Type of Guy" and "Six Minutes of Pleasure" omitted?

because he has too much awesomeness to fit on an 80-minute cd, that's why.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 11 April 2009 04:35 (seventeen years ago)

i am all in favor of someone doing a more comprehensive LL poll. this was one of those 3-minute "hey let's poll this greatest-hits album" jobs.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Saturday, 11 April 2009 04:36 (seventeen years ago)

LL POLL J

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Saturday, 11 April 2009 04:40 (seventeen years ago)

smooth LL poll would be rad too: "I Need Love", "Six Minutes of Pleasure", "Doin' It", "Hey Lover", etc.

Euler, Saturday, 11 April 2009 13:51 (seventeen years ago)

^poll results: Doin' It gets 14 votes, Need Love gets 3, everything else gets 0.
