I spoke too soon. The real best Air song is "Modulor Mix."

Mr. Snrub, Thursday, 14 August 2008 02:38 (sixteen years ago) link

my boyfriend went through a phase when he would listen to the Sexy Boy album a lot in the morning. so it always seemed like Sexy Boy was coming on right as he was like getting ready. it was not okay.

"Heaven's Light".

"Playground Love" is so fantastic. Just thinking about it makes me want to like The Virgin Suicides more than I do (it's still pretty great). Somewhere out there, there's an album along these lines that lives up entirely to that song and to the cover of Obscured By Clouds. In this fantasy of mine, I also find a whole packet of oxycontin in my drawer that I had forgotten about.

'modulor mix'

spent an hour or so watching all their videos on youtube t'other week, recommend doing that sometime.

Crackle Box, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:01 (twelve years ago) link

what happened after 10,000hz? anything worth checking out?

Crackle Box, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:02 (twelve years ago) link

The next one is very good also (Walkie Talkie). I don't know after that.

Tim F, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 11:03 (twelve years ago) link

keep this thread bumping til the weekend to remind me to dig up my CD of them live at Sydney Opera House a few years back, TIA

Walkie Talkie was alright actually.

I've got both Pocket Symphony and Love 2 but I'd be hard pressed to name a single track off either album without looking it up. Both pretty bland, inoffensive stuff that I don't think I listened to more than a handful of times.

groovypanda, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 14:37 (twelve years ago) link

such a great live band

Crackle Box, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 15:06 (twelve years ago) link

"La femme d'argent" or "Le soleil est près de moi"...old school Air for me.

two lights crew (seandalai), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 15:07 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah, "Le Soleil..." is up there. I really like "Radian" off 10,000Hz which I bought off the back of "Radio #1" which is hugely underrated IMO. I'd almost forgotten this band exists and used to be really good.

I'm not really sure where it has come from but I'm sort of in the mood where I'd listen to Godin/Dunckel's side projects - any recommendations? I've definitely owned (but got rid of) one of their albums before, mind.

Talisman came on the other day and sounded really good

calstars, Wednesday, 21 August 2024 23:44 (three weeks ago) link

Godin's Concrete & Glass is beautiful, would recommend the expanded edition that has an even better version of the Kadhja Bonet collaboration

Otherwise I only really know the Darkel album, enjoyed it at the time though it's probably fairly minor
