In a fit of payday madness I've bought this domain. Now we need to work out what to do with it. Any suggestions?

I've always wanted to see a website that had nothing but movie spoilers.

Josh wasn't specific enough: armadillo porn.

i've been to moviepooper.com and recommend it.

hey, what about a site for young people that taps into current trends and lets rip! yeah! you could have a spot for up-and-coming uk garage artists, comment with attitude and features about drugs! just make sure it's pro-active enough...

in short, fuck knows. as a regular reader, i have but one request: no. more. reviews. (read my lips.)

thanks and goodnight

Well, alas, the gameplan for NYLPM has always been a review a day. Sometimes - mostly, even - we've deviated from that but that's still the ideal. But tell you what, we won't run both PopEye columns on the same day again.

As for Cider Armadillo, I've ordered the cider, the armadillos and the lubricant. Now all we need are the models.

Tim suggests:

That Cider Armadillo be a delightful and peaseful non-strong-push centre for all fans of Tom and Tom's pleasures. Happy people could go to Cider Armadillo to search for a pleasure and witness all of Tom's friends playing together, joking together and sleeping together. Create a sensation!

But seriously, I'm thinking that Cider Armadillo should be to Blue Lines what Freaky Trigger is to NYLPM. That is a colourful big site with lots of weird and wonderful things like dangerous drinks, pokemon and weird sushi people with no words as in last issue. Typical high cultural theory and the like. It could also be a way for all the people who talk about music on Freaky Trigger/NYLPM to let out their non-musical creative urges. Which covers the porn, and indeed the armadillo porn as well.

Ah, I can see it now ... a civilised coffee house of the net, chewing over anything that occurs to us, with my contributions (and those of all others) expanding fairly freewheelingly between music and cultural theory.

Tom as the benign loose controller of proceedings. Me expounding the theory of "progressive ruralism". Tim Hopkins responding with a mix of anger and bafflement. Mike making the rest of us wondering why we bother, as usual. Tim Finney and Fred being consistently entertaining and stimulating, but never *that* unapproachable. Oh, and Josh ending up in a corner talking to himself :).

But seriously (no offence meant, Josh!), Mr Finney has touched on a great idea. No rules, no beginning, no end, just fascination. Make the dream real ...

Hey Tom, what happened to ciderarmadillo.com? Or was it also ceded to the enemy in the Domain Name Wars of early 2001?

Tim, Thursday, 5 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

I still own it, and I'll probably renew it, but I've never bought space for it so it currently lies fallow. Who knows what might happen one day...?

Tom, Thursday, 5 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

can me, ally & the armadillo do some porn, like internet style, without even being in the same room/country/reality plane?

Geoff, Thursday, 5 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

It might be a nice place for ilm/e posters to write about things that don't quite fit with FT: fiction, non-pop culture related non fiction, etc. Just a thought, since I know at least a couple of posters here dabble in fiction.

Nicole, Thursday, 5 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

It does seem fairly sensible to make CA to FT what ILE is to ILM, Nicole - good idea!

Now I just need some money for space...
