How come they never released a second album given the great success they achieved with Decksanddrumsandrockandroll?

Wiki says there was a new song called "10 Years" in 2003, but then nothing (and I've never even heard that one).

Loved this record when it came out.. Saw them live & I bought this album and all of their singles on vinyl over the next year. It was actually my introduction to instrumental/breakbeat/dance whatever.. and opened the doors for me eventually getting into stuff like Underworld, Alec Eiffel, Chemical Brothers, Add N To X, etc etc.. I think lots of other people in the US were introduced to music of that sort about a year later by Fatboy Slim's "You've Come A Long Way Baby" and Moby's "Play." (I may be underestimating the social impact of Prodigy's "Fat Of The Land," but I always assumed most kids in the US who pumped this record were into stuff like Marilyn Manson & NIN.)

And yes, I've been patiently waiting for a follow-up ever since.. but pretty much gave up hope somewhere around 2002.

one of the guys i work, with his father knows one of the fathers of of one of the guys in propellerheads.
a recent chat with co-worker revealed this fact, so i asked - 'wha'appened to them?'
the story is one of the duo, sorry but i cant recall which one, became very ill and just didn't enjoy the whole pop star/industry lifestyle, so they actively decided to pull back from the chaos.
also, didn't they become more interested in promoting the studio software that they were involved with at some point ?

I was just thinking about this the other day, and wondering what ILX thought of them.

I also had a dream last night that "Take California" was ranked as like the number one dance song of all time by some respectable publication, and I remember feeling really happy about it.

I really, really used to love this album and still do a ton. So much of it really is brilliant (i.e. "Take California") and is criminally underrated. I'd been anticipating a follow-up myself.

And "It was actually my introduction to instrumental/breakbeat/dance whatever.. and opened the doors for me eventually getting into stuff like Underworld, Alec Eiffel, Chemical Brothers, Add N To X, etc etc" is totally OTM for me as well.

I went through a phase where I tried to amass everything (songwise) the Propellerheads released and I think I wound up with like 5 or 6 CDs

Didn't they produce a Jungle Brothers album at one point?

I think my favorite thing on that album is "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" ("Take California" is awesome, though).
