Actually, IIRC, it's okay, but wasn't it kind of a throwaway? That's the one that starts off "Who put 15 tons of shit on Trafalgar Square" or something like that, right? Doesn't it have a plinky note that plays all-the-way through the chord changes? Anyway, I guess like the other two on the Spot the Pigeon EP ("Match of the Day" and especially "Inside and Out") better.

Joe - of course "Pigeons" is a bit of a throwaway: I just have a fondness for the way it takes a lot of very very quintessential, even stereotypical prog elements (the story song, self- consciously "English" lyrics, the passing of time etc) and distills them into a three-minute pop song. I think someone here said that Jethro Tull were prog's only good singles band: I can't help thinking that Genesis ought to have scaled their form down to single-length more often before they went all AOR and shit.
