tell me about autocollants. were they a bit like aberdeen, but with perhaps a touch of early st etienne. they had a 7" on a label in kilmarnock which i cant remember the name of. or was that someone else. didn't they become another band eventually?

They did a lovely cover of the Cat's Miaow's "Aurora", too.

I think some of them became the Diplomat Haircuts? Laura Watling was also a member. They had a couple of pretty jangly tunes, they even had the occasional shoegazing moment. The 7" was on Tinseltones, they also had a 7" on Quiddity (an early incarnation of Drive-in) and a recent comp on Shelflife.
