Witching Hour destroyed me today. Going to put the other ones on the iPod for a car trip this weekend. What say you?

"Light And Magic" is the one.

I've got 604 (which is the one I'm missing) coming in the mail, so I haven't heard everything yet. I do feel that Velocifero the most compulsively listenable record I've heard from them.

velocifero has fewer decent tracks on it than their first single IMO
went for witching hour just edging out 604. light & magic was pretty disappointing after 604 but to be fair 604 was essentially a singles comp with some fairly fillerish bonus tracks

Come on this is too easy. As much as I love the rest, 'Witching Hour' just towers miles above.

I love all of these but the debut still does it for me best.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

For a long time, "Blue Jeans" was my favorite Ladytron song, but now it's probably "Seventeen".

No way. This band just continues to improve, I love the newer directions.
Velocifero > Witching Hour > Light & Magic > 604

"Light & Magic" >>> "604" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "Witching Hour" >>>> "Velocifero"
No need to waste any more time on this band until they return to their electropop roots.

Bumped because I've been relistening to Witching Hour, which came out 10 years ago last week and still remains their finest moment, and to me one of the better UK electropop albums to be released since the turn of the millennium. Great record. With the benefit of hindsight, I feel that Ladytron were really just getting warmed up on 604 and Light & Magic - there's some good songs on both, but Witching Hour was a hell of a leap forward, and I think what they've done since then has been great. Their last one, Gravity The Seducer, in particular I thought was very underrated.

'Soft Power' still gives me chills. so menacing.

Yeah, such a wonderful track... 'International Dateline' has been cropping up randomly in my head throughout the day, too.

Was tempted to put them in "Never release another album" thread--doesn't seem like they did much behind the last one, and according to FB, Helen Marnie's working on a second solo joint.

I remember reading an interview with Helen Marnie where she said that Ladytron weren't quite over yet, and Daniel Hunt did work on her first solo album. Maybe they'll get back together after Marnie's second solo album, which I'm definitely looking forward to.

Turrican OTM - Witching Hour definitely top 5 of the decade for me. Driving a few years ago at night in a snow storm in Nevada with "Soft Power" playing remains a very-Bond like personal highlight.

"International Dateline" just melts me into a puddle of pathos and "Destroy" is obviously the megastomper of the millennium, but Velocifero is the album I bump the most to this day.

Velocifero is probably my second favourite record of theirs after Witching Hour
― Le Baton Rose (Turrican), Saturday, 25 May 2019 23:34 (five years ago) link
Same here (but I would think that this is a pretty un controversial opinion)

Witching Hour > 604 > Velocifero for me. Always found the latter a bit patchy and its best bits are kind of 'Witching Hour II' - "Burning Up" and "Versus" are among their best songs though.
