As an outgrowth of the "American Smiths" thread, I'd like to pose the following force fed fast food for thought requests for across the pond equivalents.
Who's the Brit-equiv of Bruce Springsteen?
Who's the American-equiv of The Cure?
Who's the Brit-equiv of Creedence Clearwater Revival?
Who's the American-equiv of Siouxsie & the Banshees?
Who's the Brit-equiv of Bob Dylan (Donovan DOES NOT COUNT.)?
Who's the American-equiv of Pulp?

The British equivalent of Creedence clearwater revival is definitely Stereophonics. Of that there is no doubt.

What about Badly drawn boy for Bruce Springsteen?

The prodigy have no U.S. comparison to my mind. Not that I think they are that special, I just don't think the yanks have ever got close to understanding the originals.
