Hello everyone. Long time reader, first time poster.
I'm curious about the Japanese psych band Shizuka and was wondering if there was anyone out there who could help with the following questions:
Does the Persona Non Grata live album depart much from the sound on the PSF debut Heaven's Persona? If so, how so?
Does the Live / Traditional Aesthetics disc contain the PNG material? ie, is it just a reissue?
Any other info on this amazing band would be much appreciated.

I only have the Persona Non Grata Live album, so can't answer the first question, but as regards the second, I believe the recent PSF album is not a reissue but a new album.
Worthwhile posting on http://www.noise.as/forum/index.php as well with your questions.

Just checked my copy of the PNG Live album and it doesn't appear to give any details as to when and where it was recorded. Since it was released in 1995, while the Traditional Aesthetics disc wasn't recorded until September 10 1995, it seems unlikely that it would have been manufactured and put out fast enough have been the same date.

No worries. Alan Cummings is generally the font of all knowledge on these things, so maybe he'll provide some insight at some point over there.

I only have the live album on Persona Non Grata, but a fine blast of downer PSF Jap weirdness it is for sure.

I got a malware warning message when I tried to click on that noise.as forum link. I was really into "Shizuka Live" when it came out. I still have it - I should pull it out and give it a listen. RIP.

The forum is very much safe and above board as far as I know. I use it regularly without problems.

I'm using Google Chrome, and I get this message:
"The website at noise.as contains elements from the site www.ihurtnow.com, which appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer. For detailed information about the problems with these elements, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page for www.ihurtnow.com."
Probably somebody linked to something innocuous there, and the Chrome browser is just being hyper-sensitive.
