Recommendation: High Contrast

I'm halfway through listening to High Contrast's new album True Colours (sadly no Cyndi Lauper cover). It's brilliant. Soulful drum & bass of the best kind, i.e. not just weak sub-Size shit with some third rate singing over the top - the music has soul and funk, not just the vocals. This seems to me to take someone who is a comparatively new producer straight into the Krust class (and I rate Krust VERY highly indeed), say - and that's a reasonably decent stylistic touchstone too, at times.

Anyone else heard this?

I am mystified as to how this is troll behaviour (there's nothing provocative there, is there?), and I'd have thought that after several hundred posts on ILX I'd not get this reaction. Nice big arrow, though.

I'm downloading, Martin. I always appreciate good recommendations. That is a great big arrow, tho.

Yep it's a winner - heard most of the tracks. Return of forever is the BIG track. I have dubbed High Contrast style as FUTURE FUNK JUNGLE. I have mentioned High Contrast several times in the past year on my weblog. High Contrast does have a distinctive production style, probably the nearest reference point would be JOHN B.

the best music to come out of Wales since... GREEN GARTSIDE
