Myself, I prefer the Double Happys -- a fine band cut off in its
prime -- and some of Carter's best work.
("Bad Politics" -- long a go I went to see Chris Knox open for Yo La
Tengo (I was there for Knox) and the audience was than friendly,
their hearts set on Fakebook Yo La Tengo, the popular record
for the time. Annoyed at the audience's poor behavior and hearing
people screaming out for Fakebook, Yo Lo Tengo opened their
set with a screeching cover of the Dead C's "Bad Politics", scarrying
off at least half of the Fakebookers in the audience).
