Bad politics? Please do explain.

Actually, the above thread was a bad psych experiment. A good friend of mine showed me the "Why doesn't everyone in the world want to shag Shayne Carter" thread, which is ummmm interesting reading. We were testing how long, it would take the participants - some of whom are my friend's friends - in that thread to respond. Failure.

How many people out side NZ even Know who Shane Carter is??

If they know Shayne at all, its from the Straightjacket Fits. Myself, I prefer the Double Happys -- a fine band cut off in its prime -- and some of Carter's best work.

("Bad Politics" -- long a go I went to see Chris Knox open for Yo La Tengo (I was there for Knox) and the audience was than friendly, their hearts set on Fakebook Yo La Tengo, the popular record for the time. Annoyed at the audience's poor behavior and hearing people screaming out for Fakebook, Yo Lo Tengo opened their set with a screeching cover of the Dead C's "Bad Politics", scarrying off at least half of the Fakebookers in the audience).

Hmmm - Shayne Carter is famous in that little world of Dunedin and that's all that matters.

I suspect that all who have seen Chris Knox play live will have experienced at least one attack on the audience. My personal favourite: when heplayed the Otago Uni orientation in 1990. He broke a string then basically stopped playing, but continued shouting (such rants as "you're all a load of rich-little-spoilt-bratts-whose- mummies-pay-for-their-education-anyway" etc.) Joyish fun.

Hey, Dimmer's rilly famous in Auckland like.

(&, er, the nu-interpretation of "She Speeds" - surely he has already "leapt in" if that reading is korrekt etc?!?)

. . . and, er, is Chris Knox any happier at Tall Dwarfs gigs? Does the pervasive luvvy niceness of Alec Bathgate encompass him in balmfulls of phil2anthropy?

Yeah, but Herbie Fuckface never appealed, and his timing was good- damn-awful.
