This is her best single.

classic! if this was on one of those paradise garage comps you'ld love it! or something. this is easily her best song (possibly her only great song)

gareth, Monday, 1 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

its slightly better than her other tripe.

I like the retro-disco guitar on this one, although you can't take her seriously when she threatens to burn the house down.

o. nate, Tuesday, 2 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i took that very seriously & ran out of the building.

I think it's a magnificent record, the one which convinced be that S E-B was essentially a Good Thing rather than a Bad Thing. I love it when people complain about her accent - long live the Nu Posh (except for Tim).

Nu-Posh = Bionic Victoria? (And how would that differ from Old-Posh?)

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 3 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I quite like it. I think my editor does too. That may have encouraged me to come out and say it; I can't quite recall.

The only reason Jeff Lynne isn't suing in this case is because if he made a case that this is really just a limp reworking of "Last Train to London", then the remaining Beatles might sue him for...well, everything he ever did.

twenty-one years pass...

Now back on charts worldwide bc of Saltburn. Actually, the song had never originally charted in the U.S. but is now #51.

Never charted on the Hot 100, I mean. It was on the dance charts in 2002.

jaymc, Saturday, 3 February 2024 15:10 (two years ago)

huh, wonder if that's why it came up on my Spotify recently. was pretty surprised, haven't heard the song in 20 years
