JUlio Desouza, Sunday, 30 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The lyrics were written by the bassist from Mud, you know? Or was it the Sweet? I forget.

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 30 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You have proved its fucking shitness by science.

Julio Desouza, Sunday, 30 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you saying Mud and TheSweet are shit, Julio?

u know the £15.99 sticker is still intact on my import copy and the 12" mix thereon still brings tears to my eyes. it's still *easily* one of my favourite songs of all time.

pisces, Sunday, 30 September 2007 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

back in 02 i did a dj set, of everything i played the only tracks anyone danced to were this and a magnetic fields song

electricsound, Sunday, 30 September 2007 01:02 (eighteen years ago)

Kind of dud. Because of this song, we had "Murder On The Dancefloor" though, which was one of the better dance-pop hits of the early 2000s.

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 30 September 2007 01:46 (eighteen years ago)

On first listen, I really like the beat, but the chorus is kinda meh.

Mr. Snrub, Sunday, 30 September 2007 01:46 (eighteen years ago)

How can anyone say this is a dud? It's what pop music is all about.

It's also example of an artist who has no idea of what they're doing: I heard Sophie Ellis-Bextor bemoaning the sugary chorus, instead praising her own input to the verses. 'cos the verses are what's brilliant about this, obviously.

So Classic. I remember traveling in Europe hearing this alternating with Modjo's "Lady" and couldn't be more pleased.

Spencer Chow, Sunday, 30 September 2007 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

i remember thinking it was a bit dated when it came out (like lagging a couple of years behind all the french "super discount" style disco-house) but a good tune none the less.

max r, Sunday, 30 September 2007 18:49 (eighteen years ago)

dud - it stopped Posh Spice from getting to the top :(. True steppers, you're out of your mind.

danzig, Sunday, 30 September 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

That's a great track too!
