Will someone in the UK please purchase and send me some "meow meow" while it's still legal both there and here? Thanking you, I remain.

That song is basically the highlight of that boring ass movie.
― bamcquern, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 22:34 (sixteen years ago)
no, it's a spectacular movie.

I would've been lost without that Kael article. Those kids are infuriating and the movie doesn't open up and feel right until the third act & the train ride. Couldn't Godard have made his point without 2/3s of the movie being stilted Marxist/Maoist rhetoric that he writes in so that he can knock it down?
I liked the movie, but in those first 2/3 I was very squirmy.

Those kids are infuriating
but they are really good-looking! and the movie is extremely funny!

that's a fine-looking pair of would-be maoist revolutionaries, no?

Yes, they're good looking, and the movie is very good-looking. I didn't think it was extremely funny, though. They're laughable, but not funny (most of the time). Are you well-versed in Marxist theory? Maybe it's funnier to you if you are.
I watched the movie with good will, and finished it with my good will intact. But I was antsy and I can't say that I was laughing like it's Hot Shots Part Deux.
