As much as I like Clones of Dr. Funkenstein and Mothership Connection, I still prefer Free Your Mind...And Your Ass Will Follow and Maggott Brain for Hazel's channeling of Hendrix. But hey its all good y'dig??

At th!s m0m3nt !n t!me, l!k3, "0|\| Th3 0|\|3" iz what iz g3tting me on. Parliament are my faves now, coz they are surely the most on the 1 band ever, and "mothership Connection's" opening track (I forget title & am too lazy to go upstairz & chex0r) iz surely thee most on the 1 track EVER recorded. BOOOM!

Funkadelic = scarier, heavier, rawer. I love it all (glad to see someone else here actually took the time to appreciate "Dope Dogs" as much as me!), but the early Funkadelic records are really heavy, dark affairs. There's more nuance to the lyrics and the sleeve designs, the songs are more free-wheeling in their arrangements (the only hard and fast rule being "no horns"), the music is a less predictable stew (=MC5+Sly, whoda thunk it?)

I loved Dope Dogs. This question is messed up because Parliament commonly went into Funkadelic territory and vice-versa.
