The song in question is on a compilation tape that a tutor did for a friend about 5 years ago. The friend lent it to me and after a few months I lost the tracklisting. There's one song on the tape that stands out - it's a cover of 'Tell me' by the Stones sang by a lady who sounds close to tears, fuzzy guitar backing. Her vocals are intense and lift the song from average 60s beat track to something quite beautiful. Anyone know what this is? You get 10 points if you can tell me simply from that little description, but only 5 points if you can tell after hearing it. Find it at:

(sorry i don't know html, can someone make it go blue and useful? also, bear in mind it's Geocities so if if doesn't work just try again about an hour later).

I'm gutted that no one knows (or cares) who did the song. I've spent months trying to discover who - even resorting to asking on the *ulp* Mojo newsboards, with no joy. I thought that you folk would come up with the goods but alas... sob sob
Anyway, y'all should download it anyway, it's VERY pretty.
