So I'm editing this now, wahey! Their dance section I mean. The rock section might be terrible but anyhow it's all about the dance section. I'll be doing an interview with Lottie next week, and I've been getting into lots of stuff for free including the Creamfields launch last night which involved free drink. I'm going to have a mad time with this over the next few months, the interview possibilities while I was away were great but now I'm back and can actually do them.

(I didn't call it BPM, or sorted)

Anyway see what you think of my very original summer hits article.

I decided to put this in new answers, you can add a "do not read if you hate me" mentally if you want.

Some summer anthems you seem to have missed:

David Guetta - Love Don't Let Me Go
Filur - I Want You
Moony - Dove
Laidback Luke - Popmusic
One-T - Music Is The One-T ODC
Soulvation - Summer In The City (Soulvation Single Edit)
Solid Session - Janeiro 2002 (Armin Van Buuren Remix)
Kelli Ali - Inferno High Love (Riva Dub)
Solar Stone - Solarcoaster
Way Out West - Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Snap vs Plaything - Do You See The Light 2002
Andain - Summer Calling (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Tiesto - In My Memory
Jurgen Vries - The Theme

And for those not looking for relaxed, summer-y discs:
Arome - Hands Up! (DJ Scot Project Remix)
Reloop - Fucking Society

I don't do trance, haha. The Moony song isn't great I don't think, I'd have Kylie or Cosmos before it but you can't include everything can you.

Why not? I mean, what's the point of rounding up this year's big summer anthems and then discarding half of them?

I don't think it's too brilliant either, but the forces that be have made this a huge summer anthem. It's played to death at every beach party I attend...

I thought it was brilliant about the first twenty to thirty times I listened to it, but the effect wore off somewhat. Funny how some records are instantly appealing but gradually lose that appeal.

The forces that be can fuck off, I've never heard and never will hear Moony in a club.

It's the norm I'd say - there are not that many light/fluffy dancepop records that keep their appeal under the barrage of months of radio play. Lots of those tracks are literally played to death, and only become fun again when you haven't heard them for a while (then it falls under "nostalgia", like early 90s europop, etc).

One of the few tunes that didn't lose its appeal in any way would be Music Sounds Better With You, I'd say.
