in my mind there's a category of rap songs which sort of focus on the good ol days - giving you a list might explain it better than I could:
nas - doo rags, memory lanebiggie - juicyice cube - today was a good daylast emperor - do you remember
usually the beat is really melancholic, sounds really warm and wistful at the same time.
any recommendations for more? tried doing a search but couldn't figure out the right combination of keywords.
