I used 'twee' irl in college and it is still one of the most embarrassing things I've done while blackout drunk

I used twee once IRL. There's this girl with long brown hair and a big bow in a band called "Wh3n 1 W4s Tw3lve" and she is ridic cutesy and I was like "Can I make you a shirt that says 'TWEE AS FUCK"? and she just got uncomfortable. But I mean "twee" to me just means "ridic cutesy", is this not correct?

This object perpetually attempts to sell itself on eBay. (Stevie D), Saturday, 6 March 2010 06:50 (fourteen years ago) link

Because they encompass all these tags, and ELECTRO, Capricorns were the best band of the 00's.

Gaahl has chosen Emo. Therefore Emo is exempt. Goth is awesome unless prefixed with cyber.

Twee must die.

Doran, Saturday, 6 March 2010 08:45 (fourteen years ago) link

why wouldn't you use "twee" irl?

I tried using twee irl recently and it went over like a lead balloon. Is it that people just say that on the internet?

kingkongvsgodzilla, Saturday, 6 March 2010 10:54 (fourteen years ago) link

Chiefly British.

^^ might be yr problem

Colonel Poo, Saturday, 6 March 2010 11:28 (fourteen years ago) link

So nowhere near Baltimore then, huh? That probably explains it. Glad i haven't tried to shoehorn "ickle" in anywhere!

kingkongvsgodzilla, Saturday, 6 March 2010 11:51 (fourteen years ago) link

Twee-more. Now there's a Baltimore combination of town and gown I'd like to hear.

Doran, Saturday, 6 March 2010 12:29 (fourteen years ago) link

goth all the way guys

lukevalentine, Sunday, 7 March 2010 00:55 (fourteen years ago) link

hmmm. definitely not twee.

i met a girl in university once during a radio station orientation and i thought she had really great taste in music. then she dropped the "twee" bomb and things were never the same.

i think i can stand behind the goth bands i listen to proudly, so i'll pick that one.

borntohula, Sunday, 7 March 2010 04:01 (fourteen years ago) link

just dl'd a copy of Of Montreal's Hissing Fauna, and the genre is listed as "Twee"

called something like Hoppy Polar by Ziggy Ross (ksh), Sunday, 7 March 2010 04:55 (fourteen years ago) link

all three of these are awesome, only a twee goth emo would think otherwise

noted schloar (dyao), Sunday, 7 March 2010 05:01 (fourteen years ago) link

what is the 'twee bomb'? liking twee music or saying 'twee'?

iatee, Sunday, 7 March 2010 05:21 (fourteen years ago) link

Is it like dropping Tallulah Gosh in the middle of a minimal techno set? And the crowd do the opposite of going wild. They just slump a little bit.
