¡Olé! It's the Matador Records Poll! Part Ocho: 351-400

Previously: Part Siete. I'm sensing a lot of competition for the top spot in this one; there's some real classics here (at least for me, anyway).

BUT -- "...and Silver Light Popped in His Eyes" is almost enough to get a vote for 380 all by itself.

Some great electronic stuff here but most of it came out on Warp for us Euros. Maybe I'll vote for one of them anyway.

one of these days i want to do an article about matador's dabbling with hip-hop.

Arsonists and Mr. Len album are both dope but i'd prolly go with Mogwai tbh

Again, it's Solex vs. somebody. In this case CODY. The beginning of that album is really pretty incredible, even if half the incredible-ness comes from the guy talking. I have a soft spot for Pavement's belated Fall cover on the Major Leagues single.

And btw, I'm hardly a Solex fanboy, but am kind of shocked to see her so unloved in these polls.

A few more hours left for this one. I really thought it would have got more interest. But maybe CODY is too obvious a winner? I personally love it, but I've met a fair few people who can't stand the thing.

I also love The Hot Rock, it's my favourite Sleater-Kinney; but they seem like the kind of band where everyone has a different favourite/entry point. I didn't like their last two albums, but the same songs slayed live.

I loved that YLT one when it came out, even wrote a glowing review for my college newspaper, but the only song I remember from it now is the gimmicky one they dance to on stage.
