Staind play a form of post grunge with varying elements from nu-metal, alternative rock and alternative metal. Topics of their lyrics cover issues of depression, relationships, finding oneself, betrayal and even Lewis' thoughts about becoming a father in the song "Zoe Jane" from 14 Shades of Grey.

Oh, fucking christ... I remember this video getting heavy rotation and constantly marvelling at the spectacle of the introverted bald guy dourly singing his teenage poetry, while the moron in the red hat who hasn't evolved mentally since high school shouts inappropriately over the top of it. The only thing I can think of what would probably match this in terms of cringe is watching someone scream the theme tune to 'Wayne's World' at a fucking funeral.

And yeah, it's definitely "I'm Feelin' Those Lighters". Christ.

Most fascinating part to me has always been the ripples of cheers from the crowd. They are in this moment together, this rare intimate duet of their heroes, and the adulation sways around the stadium. "This is the best night of my life!" someone shouts, but the friend doesn't hear because they are Wooing louder than they have ever wooed, before or since

As boneheaded as his rant was, it's really not a good look to see the internet (other places this morning, not ilx) clowning him for calling these assholes out. We should definitely be making sure to shame the guy calling out this behavior, that's completely the best course of action.
