New Order should take this easily, considering how it's ILM and all.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 00:44 (twelve years ago) link

Voted n-dubz

Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 00:57 (twelve years ago) link

if i had included steely dan and/or fleetwood mac it woulda been tough for ilm

actually metallica with stevie nicks seems plausible

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 00:57 (twelve years ago) link

What about "who should Lou Reed collaborate with next". The best part of the concept was reed working w/Metallica, not the other way around.

I mean, anybody could collaborate with metallica and it'll sound like... Metallica. Now imagine Lou reed with rascal flatts or shakira!

50000000 elves (blank), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:09 (twelve years ago) link

Anyway, voted Chad because he is a warrior

50000000 elves (blank), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:10 (twelve years ago) link

Nb: have not heard Lou/Metallica collab yet bcz there's no way it will live up to my expectations.

50000000 elves (blank), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:11 (twelve years ago) link

well do the lou reed poll then!

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:12 (twelve years ago) link

Billy Idol is genuinely the funniest possible answer here for me

some dude, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:13 (twelve years ago) link

i can imagine a music exec suggesting to metallica they collaborate with Ke$ha. Sadly i can see them agreeing to it.

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:13 (twelve years ago) link

the billy idol one seems the most plausible

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:14 (twelve years ago) link

i would love a ke$ha/metallica record!

markers, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 01:15 (twelve years ago) link

markers would be in heaven if metallica collaborated with ke$ha.
Cliff would be spinning in his grave.

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 04:12 (twelve years ago) link

markers, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 04:13 (twelve years ago) link

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 04:14 (twelve years ago) link

loool no, to metallica/ke$ha

markers, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 04:29 (twelve years ago) link

Pet Shop Boys seems like the obvious answer

Dick "Fuquer" Dunn (Darin), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 05:20 (twelve years ago) link

Mark E Smith if it was no-guitar solos st Anger style. If they were just there to be his backing band then Blindness, Fall Sound, Sparta FC and many others would be amazing. Plus he could do some rant about These New Puritans have ripped off The Fall, Dragon's Den and how he once got locked in the toilets of a Virgin train for ten minutes outside Crewe Alexander over Orion.

Zingling Baby (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 15:10 (twelve years ago) link

Voted for Maxwell, because it seemed like the strangest out of left field choice on there. Though Pet Shop Boys comes close.

MarkoP, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 17:45 (twelve years ago) link

i cant remember who nominated that one

Metalliclannad?

Death To False Camp (Doran), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 20:50 (twelve years ago) link

funny how we all rule out the thought of them working with someone from the metal world yet wouldn't be surprised if they worked with Ke$ha.
Oh how could a band fall so far from grace.

It seems such a long time ago that they were total gods who could do no wrong.

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 20:57 (twelve years ago) link

Well, it was, wasn't it. The 1980s I mean.

A Pet Shop Boys collaboration would have been very interesting, but I doubt Neil Tennant would be interested in collaborating with a rock band.
