So who else is representing for dog-on-a-string urban protest, hyper-diluted punk stylings and jesus-awful poetry in the 2010s? There's our Frank, obv, plus these King Blues nobs, plus that dude that did that song about somebody dying of a smack overdose - Ed Sheeran is it? - i had to look the cunt up. Is stuff like Professor Plum the lol grime wing of this, um, movement? Is this thing? How can we stop it?

yeah at any given moment i'm sure lots of these kinds of acts are playing 25th on the bill at yr local provincial Peace Festival, but now in these grisly economic times they're bringing their message of hope and resistance to the mainstream.

the only reason 'crusty' has a different def'n in the UK is because there were one or two bands in the early 90s who went mnstrm with it, despite having roots in more or less the same community as the (British) bands Drew listed there
