this one has been a mystery to me for years, it's from the New Riders of the Purple Sage's "Lonesome L.A. Cowboy":
[i]I know Rick & Rita & Martin Mull are over at the Troubadourwe'll get it on with the Joy of Cooking while the crowd cries out for morearound six o'clock this morning, I'll be getting kinda slowwhen all the shows are over, honey, tell me, where do you think I go?]/i]

years from now steven tyler will lie awake in the dark hours at the beginning of the day thinking to himself that if he had only managed to close that bracket properly he would have learned that terrible secret, and so brought himself some measure of peace. instead he will go to his grave not knowing the meaning of the new riders of the purple sage's 'lonesome l.a. cowboy', always unfulfilled, always searching, never at rest.

Maybe it's referring to her "window ledge" from the chorus..

no idea about this, sorry. but continuing - what the fuck does damo suzuki sing about anyways?
― nonightsweats, Saturday, 7 January 2012 04:54 (fourteen years ago)
I never heard that song before. He's on the window ledge from midnight til dawn, but he's wondering where he goes after that. I think he is asking himself, because he doesn't know.
And the girl who has a window ledge is cocaine. The ledge is also cocaine. So is his new song. And he should be working on his craft, but he's glamming it up in the bars instead with other ex-faux-rustic types because everything has changed including the drugs.

OK, so Halloween fell on a weekend - this is confirmed in that Geto Boys are 'robbing little kids for their (trick of treat) bags.' Then there is a terrible fracas of some sort, and then Bushwick confesses at the end that he feels "just like a fiend" because "it wasn't even CLOSE to Halloween," emphasizing the word 'close.' Huh? Was it or wasn't it? I know his mind i splaying tricks on him, but...the kids? The bags? The trick or treating? The masks?

This year Halloween fell on a weekendMe and Geto Boys are trick-or-treatinRobbin little kids for bagsTill an old man got behind our ***So we speeded up the paceTook a look back, and he was right before our faceHe'd be in for a squabble no doubtSo I swung and hit the ***** in his mouthHe was goin down, we figuredBut this was no ordinary *****He stood about six or seven feetNow, that's the ***** I'd be seein in my sleepSo we triple-teamed on himDroppin them **********in be 's on himThe more I swung the more blood flewThen he disappeared and my boys disappeared, tooThen I felt just like a fiendIt wasn't even close to HalloweenIt was dark as **** on the streetsMy hands were all bloody, from punchin on the concreteGod damn, homieMy mind is playin tricks on me
(copied from some website)
Seems quite straightforward (lol) to me. He thought he was robbing kids of their treats on Halloween, but it turned out it wasn't even close to Halloween, he did not rob kids, he actually went insane.

The Geto Boys robbing with him was an illusion too

This verse in the video ends with Bushwick randomly punching the ground until his knuckles are bloody and then getting dragged away in an ambulance. I'd say the insane diagnosis is OTM.
