Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 13 September 2002 14:59 (twenty-three years ago)

it sounds like Ural 13 Diktators remixing Tom Waits!! why are you running away?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 13 September 2002 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

They're great because Soffy O is cooler than Miss Kittin.

Search:
Day Of Mine (Original Mix)
Day Of Mine (3Phases Mix) (= Dr. Motte)
Go!
Missy Queen's Gonna Die (Original Mix)
And the liveset rip "Tok Tok ft Soffy O Live At Mayday 01-05-2002"

Siegbran Hetteson (eofor), Friday, 13 September 2002 19:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Their album will be out next month. You can watch the "Day Of Mine" video on Viva.

Siegbran Hetteson (eofor), Friday, 13 September 2002 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

the martini bros mix of missy queen is damn fine. I didn't actually like "days of mine" when I saw the video. maybe in time though...

simon 803 (simon 803), Friday, 13 September 2002 20:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Jeezus, I read that as Tik n' Tok for a moment.

Marinaorgan, Friday, 13 September 2002 23:38 (twenty-three years ago)

If you don't already know, look into "Kitbuilders" and "Adult.", and get ready for an "ElectroClash" backlash to hit you after you start loving it.

Joe aka PappaWheelie, Saturday, 14 September 2002 06:24 (twenty-three years ago)

new answers!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 18 September 2002 19:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Siegbran - excellent call on Soffie O

The Martini Bros remix of Miss Queen's Gonna Die should not be overlooked - this is how Stereolab should have always sounded like!!

one month passes...
Thread revival: I picked up the double 12-inch LP last week and goodness. Goodness gracious.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 4 November 2002 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

One of my favourites for this year indeed.

Siegbran (eofor), Tuesday, 5 November 2002 13:13 (twenty-three years ago)

haha nabisco my reaction exactly... i wd have liked to see them make more headway with the sound they gesture towards on the 2nd song on side A. it's like this little handclappy slice of fun wodged among the brittle bones... a brief memory of something that inevitably gets plowed under with the manic logic of the rest.

it's music for satanic farm equipment.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 5 November 2002 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

That's my current favorite as well, Tracer -- that squidgy wah-wah disco loop that comes in midway is one of the best things I've heard all year.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 5 November 2002 18:17 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
Have they put anything out since the (vary good) album?

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Thursday, 12 August 2004 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

"day of mine" is fantastic, i'd be keen to hear more..

purple patch (electricsound), Thursday, 12 August 2004 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Did a tune with Nena, "Bang Bang"

Guymauve (Guymauve), Thursday, 12 August 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i have found something on slsk called 'Run Stop Restore' - new album?

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Thursday, 12 August 2004 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

oof, their first album from '99

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Thursday, 12 August 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Nena video found here: http://www.clandrei.de/toktoknena/

Guymauve (Guymauve), Thursday, 12 August 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I like! ta

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Thursday, 12 August 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Not to embarass anyone, but the name of this classic band is actually "Talk Talk."

Mark (MarkR), Thursday, 12 August 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

And why call them techno? Because they have a keyboard player? They're a guitar band with a serious jazz influence.

Mark (MarkR), Thursday, 12 August 2004 19:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Mark, you're kidding, right? Toktok.

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Thursday, 12 August 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah. Bad joke. I was thinking of a bit from The Man With Two Brains:

"What are those assholes doing on the porch?"
"[snicker] Actually, it's pronounced 'azaleas'".

Carry on.

Mark (MarkR), Thursday, 12 August 2004 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

ok, i figured you were. if it led to a steve martin quote, all's good by me.

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Thursday, 12 August 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

They haven't released anything good since Laughing Stalk

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Thursday, 12 August 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

They've released one full record since the Soffy O one, I think: Tora Bora, a fairly intense, tweaked-out tech set, partly recorded live in clubs. I can't imagine, though, that they don't plan on releasing more Soffy tracks sometime soonish.

nabiscothingy, Thursday, 12 August 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i should hope so!! that nena track wasn't really all that

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 12 August 2004 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Agreed on the Nena track. I wasn't a fan of anything other than a couple of singles and a remix or two. No idea what the second lp sounded like.

Guymauve (Guymauve), Friday, 13 August 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

i heard some of tora bora, it was pretty much as nabisco described it, not so much to my taste.
