I saw an old copy of the NME from the 1970's where they printed the lyrics to "Down Down". It was just the word "Down" printed about 100 times, though at the end they added "across across across" to take the piss.

The R.E.M. one I kinda like, but this is Peter Gabriel. His "Up" album was excellent and terribly underrated.

does this Up title mostly indicate wishful thinking/self-deception amongst artists re: the direction of their careers?..."things are going great, and getting better! I just got an offer to star in the Surreal Life!"
