HMV swindon has 'The kinks are the village green preservation society' at £4.99.

Well despite going "oh I think I have enough Ornette Coleman to be getting on w/, what w/ owning 'Beauty Is A Rare Thing' and all", I couldn't resist the two 'Golden Circle' volumes when I saw 'em for £4.99 each yesterday. Listening to the first vol earlier today made me want to play air saxophone! And also caused me to wonder, yet again, abt Ornette's 'forbidding' reputation - this music is so swinging, so supple and fluid - a joyous sound!

Also bought: 'What We Did On Our Holidays' by Fairport Convention, which includes an amazing version of Dylan's 'I'll Keep It With Mine', and the single of 'Lapdance' by N*E*R*D for 99p.

there are indeed hmvs in the us (there's certainly one in cambridge, anyway - and it's k-rub). no idea if they have a sale tho.

Saw an Orbital album I didn't have but best bargain of all even though I had it already was Playgroup for 5 euros 99 cents!!!!!!

well there is but a lot of them are rub: there are the 2 for 20 quid or something and those are rub. i only like the ones where individual alb are flogged for 5 quid or less.

Fopp rules. Today I got "Appetite For Destruction" by GNR, "Scorpion" by Eve and "Live At The Apollo" by James Brown, each for £5. They had shitloads more as well.
