He talked to me a bit about that song:

So you’ve just finished watching Alien for the twelfth time, and you absolutely love that movie. And you’re thinking about these other things, and it’s like: Jeez, I feel just like that fucking lady from Alien, you know? It’s that scene where she has to shoot all these aliens, and you can see her rolling her eyes: “Are you fucking kidding me? I can’t believe how ridiculous this is!”

Great interview but unforgivable confusion on Grant's part between Alien and Aliens... especially if he's seen the former 12 times. It's almost like he realises that the reference isn't that important in the bigger scheme of things.

Ummm, it could have been a transcription error of course... I am rather known for them!

There are a lot of people who believe hip hop went wrong when it stopped being about black berets and started being about Blackberries but you wouldn't find me promoting that view on ILM.

I love the idea of Sigourney Weaver rolling her eyes at the amount of aliens, "There are literally hundreds of them. It's going to take me hours to kill them all. KMT at those damn aliens..."

In any event yes a great song and way cool that Scott loves it. (Heard the album yet?)

This thread inspired me to listen to the album this morning on Spotify. The whole thing is great!

I stand by my claim that calling it a dance album = RONG; it is a lost Harry Nilsson album from the 1980s combined with Grant's specific lyrical vision.

Actually scratch that, I'm confusing albums! That's me talking about the NEW album, not the previous.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 12 May 2013 20:16 (thirteen years ago)

ok because i'm listening to the album queen of denmark and the dance music thing threw me for a pretty sizable loop

It's not like the new album sounds like Reel 2 Real and the Mad Stuntman.

Doran, Monday, 13 May 2013 19:27 (thirteen years ago)

this thread title confused me for a while because "sigourney weaver" is off the last album not the new one
