What was the last band or artist you'd been reading about in various spots for several years, always meaning to check out one of their records but never doing it until now, and realizing you missed out on enjoying the band or artist for much longer than you should have (essentially wasting precious years of your life that could have been much richer had you taken the plunge earlier)?

Whatta run on.

I finally picked up a couple East River Pipe albums about a week ago and have been listening to them regularly since. Cornog's a troubador of the highest calibre.

I thought this was going to be about the fact that it's 3:00 in the afternoon and I still haven't gotten a shower.

Neu!

In fact, I still haven't bothered to buy anything. Tell me what I should go for, people.

Before that, Eric B and Rakim.

FILA BRAZILLIA

but it was cool cos i love it when you discover an act properly and can spend the year listening to their last SIX albums and you feel overwhelmed by it all but you get through it just in time for the release of their next album

HANK WILLIAMS SR! Especially as hits collections are all about three quid here but I still never picked one up. Finally did last week - fucking hell what a voice!

Not so much an act, as an album: "Steal This Album" by the Coup which I passed over at the time of its original release and which due to the CRIMINAL LACK of used copies in MVE/Reckless this weekend I had to buy the 2-CD reissue of (well it wasn't that expensive) - yes, the live CD's rather unnecessary but the original album is a complete knockout; don't know why I didn't invest in it at the time. Long piece about it to come on CoM, probably on Wednesday.

Not too long ago I picked up "Remedy" by the Basmeent Jaxx and I could have kicked myself for waiting this long.

The last band I "discovered" late was Neu!. Their first album is a pretty versatile affair. There is drone music, ambient, industrial and a weird love song on the album.
Before it was Boards of Canada.
