so i hate it when people make threads already started once before, but i'll do it anyway.

ok i'm positive this has been asked before. but humour me. who do you prefer, le tigre or bikini kill, and why?

rebekah (rebekah), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

is julie ruin an option? cos she wins, just for "stay monkey". afraid is much better than a fake forever...

i really cannot be forced to choose between bikini kill and le tigre.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 17 June 2003 20:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Well for me it's between Reject All American and Le Tigre's self titled. Oh no and I have the singles to take into account! I was thinking Le Tigre but I'm not sure because I don't like the second LP

someone asked me the other day who i liked better - which i why i started the thread - and i said le tigre. he looked at me like i was crazy. i like like le tigre's sound better, it's catchier. tho i dont think i know as much bikini kill as le tigre, so that might effect it.

rebekah (rebekah), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 01:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm probably with you there, rebekah, le tigre are more musically fun, i think. more butt-dancing-with-the-vacuum-cleaner-singing-into-your-hairbrush! i've only heard about 1/2 of their first album. but y'know, i fukkin love bikini kill, screaming and loud gatz is all good by me.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 02:07 (twenty-two years ago)

oh me too! hey have you read "true love" by kathleen hanna? i just read it today. the beginning sucked, but the end was WOAH.

rebekah (rebekah), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 02:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i did not know KH has a book!

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 05:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh my god, I totally forget she had a book. I heard something about it a few years back and wasn't sure if it was for real or not. I guess it is.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah just RJA/LT plus the singles.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

it wasn't an entire book, just a short story. i found it online. i dont know if she has a book out or not!

rebekah (rebekah), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I would have probably heard of it again if she did. It might just be that Bikini Kill Colour and Activity book thing, which I'm pretty sure is just a big zine

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

oh i've read "true love" now too.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 18 June 2003 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Le Tigre mean more to me: the show I saw in Feb. 2002 was one of the defining moments of my life. On the other hand there's probably more BK songs I like than LT songs, and there's something to be said for all that cathartic screaming power. On the other hand...see, it's impossible.

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Thursday, 19 June 2003 07:06 (twenty-two years ago)

what did you think of it di?

rebekah (rebekah), Thursday, 19 June 2003 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought it was depressing and over-the-top in a me kind of way.

di smith (lucylurex), Thursday, 19 June 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Lame

Adrian McCoy (Adrian McCoy), Friday, 20 June 2003 01:33 (twenty-two years ago)
