I went off to write an essay because I'm oh so studious!

I've heard from a lot of people who aren't from the U.S. that all the stuff we drink over here is like...waaay sweet, and overly sugary and stuff...what do you guys think?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 11 September 2003 01:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Make Summer Berry a 6 and don't pay attention to my raspberry rating because I haven't actually tried it. I don't really like raspberry flavour.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 11 September 2003 01:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Jarrah chocolatte 6, nice but really a bit too sweet. Like any woman I get my cravings, a nice hot... cuppa usually does the trick... OOH! I drank some! How very saucy!

three weeks pass...
Water - 3 (I wish I had developed a taste for it earlier)

French Vanilla 8

Beer - Saporro - 7
Sing Hai (sp?) - a Thai beer 7 (when in the mood)

Guiness - 9 (again, when in the mood)

Wine - Merlot 9
Chardonny - 8
Chablis - 7
Savignon Blanc - 9
(I'm actually fussier with beer than wine although I drink more wine...I simply find that I can enjoy a lot of inexpensive brands....e.g., I like EVERYTHING Sutter Homes bottles and it's usually less than $7.00 a bottle...sometimes under $6!)

Chocolate Malt 9

Orange Juice 7 (with vodka 9)
Grape Juice 6
Pineapple 6
Grapefruit 6

Diet Coke/Pepsi 9 (I got used to it while dieting)

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 10 November 2003 03:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Andrew have I just not been reading this thread close enough, or have you really never rated yr beloved tomato juice??

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 10 November 2003 05:49 (twenty-two years ago)

TOMATO JUICE A MILLION AND A HALF

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 10 November 2003 06:13 (twenty-two years ago)

There's this stuff called V-plenish that I quite like. In one little 250ml bottle you get one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetables! That's more than I usually eat in a whole day! It only takes about 10 seconds to drink, and doesn't taste too shabby either. 7/10.

Minty (Minty), Monday, 10 November 2003 06:23 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a lot like V8, I think. I love them both too, 8/10.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 10 November 2003 06:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Sobe Zen Blend - 9
Red Devil - 8
Dr. Pepper - 8
Cherry Coke - 8
7-Up - 9
Whole Milk - 10
Water - 10
Wild Turkey - 9 (But make it 101 proof, please)
Guiness - 9
Moxie - 4 (It will always taste like asprin to me)
Earl Grey Tea - 3 (I was so disappointed, I found the aftertaste to be like disinfectant)
Chamomile Tea - 9
Budweiser - 8 (The king of cheap beers... I would take this over Miller or Coors any day)
Bloody Mary - 8 (mmmmm)
Cranberry Juice - 7 (always refreshing)
Grape Juice - 6 (sweet, but I got sick of it fast)
Penfolds Shiraz - 10 (fucking yum)
Ruffino "Ducale Gold Label" Chianti - 8 (very tasty indeed)
Lola - 11

The Man they call Dan (The Man they call Dan), Monday, 10 November 2003 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Guided by Voices? Was that the one Andrew?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 23:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I also need to know what the flavour of Doctor Pepper is. I'm not sure I want to spend $2 on a can of it.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 23:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Dr. Pepper is great! I have no idea how to describe the taste.
Also: banana milkshakes: 10

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 03:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I always figured Dr Pepper was sarsparilla flavour. Well, you know how banana flavour doesn't really taste like bananas? Well like that, but sarsparilla. It's good, anyway.

Minty (Minty), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 05:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I've had had I think six bottles of Budweiser ever, one w/an American boyfriend my cousin had, we were moving my Uncle's stuff into his new flat and he gave me one (I was 15, I thought maybe it WAS the King of Beers). Then much later I was really drunk at the Guided By Voices show, moving the monitors around and annoying the roadies, and Bob Pollard gave me a couple from the GBV chillybin and ruffled my hair. Then afterwards the guitarist gave he his justopened one. And THEN I left, but somehow (I really don't know how) got back in, for a start, then up the stage and to the backstage room up a long stairway, where I had I guess a couple more that I don't remember, talked to a pretty much literally paralytic Bob, and got passed joints which I forgot to do anything about till someone said "um, could I have one of those?" Then I left and fell all the way down the stairs, laughing. As were they. I had some more Bud at Cafe 223 when they had them for $5, I thought it'd be funny to act American, despite the yeastiness. It was! To me. The Revengers were playing.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

omg bob ruffled your hair?? wow

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, it was pretty funny.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 13 November 2003 04:59 (twenty-two years ago)
