tomp (tomp), Friday, 23 January 2004 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

hello by the way, new here etc.

tomp (tomp), Friday, 23 January 2004 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

NZ Story? Really? Hello to you too.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 23 January 2004 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, NZ Story, it's pretty tough but choosing weapons and different types of balloons is good fun and there's loads of secret shortcuts, different routes and rare items to maintain interest even when you finish it. It's a little tricky playing it with keys though

tomp (tomp), Friday, 23 January 2004 11:28 (twenty-two years ago)

It just seems weird cos as you've prob worked out most people here are FROM NZ. Wow.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 23 January 2004 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey! I downloaded the New Zealand Story yesterday (because I saw it years ago in Germany and was VERY interested) and I quite like it, especially being able to play in the city I live in WOAH. Yeah it is hard with keys though, I might get a joystick.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Friday, 23 January 2004 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I've ever played an arcade game.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:15 (twenty-two years ago)

You live in Christchurch tho

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Well that explains everything.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have like electricity?

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah good one you've never done THAT before

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 23 January 2004 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah but no running water, it's a problem.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 23 January 2004 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I love playing the house of the dead zombie shooting game in Auckland, and bubble popping games too so I like Elisabeth and Andrews tastes there!
I liked lots of old Amiga 500 games...I like joysticks.
Also ye olde Space Invaders. I love the sound of it especially.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Friday, 23 January 2004 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm getting addicted to Frogger, I even yell at the screen when I feel I've been unfairly squashed. I like the sound Pac-Man makes when he eats.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Saturday, 24 January 2004 01:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I downloaded Puzzle Bobble but can't get it to work, so I'm off to play more Frogger.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Saturday, 24 January 2004 01:13 (twenty-two years ago)

how do you get unfairly squashed? that was probably the 1st computer game I ever played (sinclair zx81)

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Saturday, 24 January 2004 05:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, go NZ story and Bubble Bobble! Everyone who likes them is great. E, do you have MAME or whatever it's mac equivalent is? That rules. I'm also a fan of Kung Fu Master and Ghosts'n'Goblins (both of which were at the games room of a holiday park where I spent many summers and 20centses). A while ago I got hooked on this ridiculously difficult side-scrolling shoot-em-up called Zero Wing (the one whose Sega version spawned the All Your Base phenomenon). Double Dragon unfortunately has not aged well.

Minty (Minty), Saturday, 24 January 2004 05:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I got unfairly squashed (well not really SQUASHED but somehow got on that bit in the second half yr not supposed to go on) when I tried to get on this log right at the end, but I totally landed on it and the game claimed I didn't. It was really annoying cos it was my last frog and my last life.
Yep Anton I'm using MAME but I'm using it on the PC so I can get the games off slsk, then I'm gonna move it all to the mac later.
PS I LOVE CENTIPEDE.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Saturday, 24 January 2004 09:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I got this "Funky Bee" game it's kinda like Raiden but with a bee and really annoying music. There's also Funky Fish, but I haven't got it yet.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 25 January 2004 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I recently got The Simpsons and Snow Bros, both of which are pretty great. Tho there's only room for one on this wee laptop, so I can't do 4 player Simpsons.

Minty (Minty), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

two months pass...
I never knew NZ story was an arcade game--- but good game--took me ages to get past the ice whale cos I always wanted Laser and if I remember correctly you needed bombs to beat him..

anyway my personal faves:
Marvel Super Heroes
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
All the Point Blank incarnations
Super Puzzle Fighter
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (not the best but I like to complete it on one credit and impress people..and thats beating Boba Fett and Darth Vader and Blowing up the death star twice and Killing the AT-ST)
X-men: Children of the atom (that was the multiplayer Simpson/Double Dragon Style Game
Simpsons was good too (was it true you could do the can-can if all four family members stood together
Turtles arcade- similar to simpsons-lots of fun!--I hated Beebop
anyway I'll add any more I think of but thats it for now!
Street-fighter 2 was good also but it was best as SF2 turbo on the SNES with the cheat so you can get 10 star turbo--soooo fast!
bye for now

Hamish Mactavish (duffath), Thursday, 15 April 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

P.S. --if you want a Good R-Type-- try R-Type Delta for the Playstation-- It's most likely a bargain bin pickup now, but it's a solid game--Hard as nails

Hamish Mactavish (duffath), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

obligatory hado-ken

raiden
ghosts and goblins
wonderboy 2
bubble bobble

ps if you are getting emulators get a good snes one and get final fantasy 6 and chrono trigger

webber toot, Thursday, 15 April 2004 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)
