Well, those are depressing options.

Yeah, should be one for "I'm married, so last century".

There's only a week's time to vote though.

Tuomas, Monday, 3 November 2008 12:12 (fifteen years ago) link

For me, it's last Saturday, so I fall into the 2-7 days ago group.

Tuomas, Monday, 3 November 2008 12:13 (fifteen years ago) link

Things are mutable, even within a week. One week ago my answer would have been 1-3 months

restraint and blindness (Just got offed), Monday, 3 November 2008 12:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Also, I love how virginity is just not even thought of as an option.

post-apocalyptic time jazz (Masonic Boom), Monday, 3 November 2008 12:17 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh yeah, I'm sorry for leaving that option out.

Tuomas, Monday, 3 November 2008 12:29 (fifteen years ago) link

...and impotence.

Ioannis, Monday, 3 November 2008 13:43 (fifteen years ago) link

Mark G, Monday, 3 November 2008 13:51 (fifteen years ago) link

I've never really gotten the idea of not having sex once you're married. Does marriage really kill your sex life, or do people get married only after their sex life is dead already?

Tuomas, Monday, 3 November 2008 13:56 (fifteen years ago) link

It (cough) comes and goes, Tuomas, that's been my experience anyway. Frequency of sex, that it. At the moment it's not really happening much.

Western marriage vows for the woman are "to love, honor and never give another blowjob."

horrible (harbl), Monday, 3 November 2008 14:08 (fifteen years ago) link

.. or not, as the case may be?

Mark G, Monday, 3 November 2008 14:09 (fifteen years ago) link

Well, there's my last preconception about marriage blown out of the water - I always thought that was actually the selling point of marriage? That you got to have sex whenever you liked without the hassle of trying to pick someone up.

If it's not even good for sex, what the hell is it good for?

post-apocalyptic time jazz (Masonic Boom), Monday, 3 November 2008 14:54 (fifteen years ago) link

(Don't answer that, I'm not entirely serious, in case you couldn't tell...)

oh wait

don't bite your friends (sunny successor), Monday, 3 November 2008 14:59 (fifteen years ago) link

Well, when you do get to have sex, it's usually very good sex. It's just not very consistent, or regular or whatever. that's just my experience, though, I wouldn't want to universalise that or anything....

The Plastic Fork (Pashmina), Monday, 3 November 2008 15:00 (fifteen years ago) link

Those tax breaks must really be something, if people still keep doing it!

post-apocalyptic time jazz (Masonic Boom), Monday, 3 November 2008 15:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Marriage doesn't mean the death of sex. It's CHILDREN.

So, uh, basically, if you haven't had sex in the past 6 months, then you're fuX0red? Or rather, not fucked as the case may be?

Carrot Kate (Masonic Boom), Thursday, 13 November 2008 22:58 (fifteen years ago) link

unless it's been more than 2 years

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Thursday, 13 November 2008 22:59 (fifteen years ago) link

Um, no, I think that's the exclamation point that proves if you go over a certain time period (which seems to be about six months) then time will just keep ticking on...

I do think there's something to that. That the longer you go without sex - the harder it gets to get back into getting sex again - or maybe the easier celibacy seems as an option. Or maybe people just get better at being resigned to "never ever again."
