First off, it certainly feels like there is more going on in this picture than just this rather hackneyed allegory, but Danny Boyle doesn't make any hint of it in his DVD commentary. This is the only Boyle film I've seen, so is this guy just another hack who tries to pass pretty camerawork off as art, or is it worth trying to dig a little deeper into his films?0
Second, the cinematography by Anthony Dod Mantle is absolutely jaw-dropping. Even his most gimmicky shots don't feel pretentious. If 28 Days Later is a taste of things to come, this guy could very well be the best thing to happen to cinematography since, well, digital photography.

I was offered a P.A.-ship on 28 Days but I would have had to drive from northernmost North London to Bow six days a week, and arrive at 7:30 ecah morning at that...oh, what might have been,
