New DVD brought to us by Mike "Beavis and Butthead/Office Space" Judge and my hero Don Hertzfeldt. Just got my copy the other day, and so far everything I've seen has been great (Hertzfeldt's immortal "Billy's Balloon" is worth the price alone). One of the shorts on the DVD, Bill Plympton's "Parking," can be seen for free at Atom Films, so I suggest checking it out for a little taste of what the DVD has to offer.

If you're interested in the current state of animation, this is as good a place to start as any.

By the way, I realize I sound like some kind of shameless infomercial host. I apologize.

This was very good! Only a few duds (uh, crotch-biting gag), and a lot of stellar shorts...It reminded me how much i love short films...the cinematic equivalent of a single, I guess. I wish they played before features on a regular basis.

Favorites: "Forgetfulness," "Jeu," "This Way Up," "Paintballing," "Mr Schwartz Mr Hazen and Mr Horlocker," "Blind Spot"

I esp. loved the ones that made me sad.
