OMG LOOK WHOS BACK!

we da mods were actually considering asking Fred Nerk if he was up for making this an actual board for talking about cricket
considering how many subcontinental guess papers hunters we've registered I think there may be a sleeping giant of cricket fans here now

fred nerk can post abt cricket anytime he likes!
if u take it away from me just give me ilhoops in return ok

I'm happy, nay, thrilled with what Jho has done for ILC, but here's the weird thing: I'm actually the biggest cricket nut you'll meet. I generally keep my wickets and my flame-outs separate, but I'd be more than delighted to meld vlogs and slogs into a giant interactive celebration of Vodka Thighs' inability to play the turning ball.

AYO. jagger I have fwd'ed yr request up the chain and the board of directors will be holding a VTC to discuss.
Jhoshea, to return this board to some form of on-topic status without ruining your fun, would you accept having most of these non-crickety threads over to HTML Playground, if you could have a modship there instead? Just throwing that out there.

XPOST no but I heard most of England's innings on the radiophone. kevin pietersen pulling out the ol' yuvraj singh impersonation, and whyever not?
when (if) i'm granted full ILC mod status i'm a gonna start some real proper threads here, on all sorts of topix. if not i might do that anyway. let jho try and stop me ;)

btw i think this board should remain a bastion of silly non-cricket related jhøshea threads as well as silly cricket related threads. i like not knowing what ur gonna get when you click.

yah either way really id be happy to peacefully coexist w/the cricket people - i even started a serious cricket thread myself once - and realistically it might help both sides to gain the critical mass needed for a successful bord
― jhøshea, Sunday, 15 June 2008 23:58 (fifteen years ago) link
that serious cricket thread you started is still my greatest ILX hour IMO

i watched pretty much the whole match today and although, because NZ are clearly a pretty poor team, it's hard to make many empirical judgments about england as as OD side they are definitely fielding better. collingwood's grab and stumping of.. whoever, i forget anyway i'm pretty drunk, was one of many impressive moments.

it's cool jho! that was a particularly juicy topic and it's the form of cricket that will hopefully crack america. twenty20: the game of now indeed.
england were about 100 for 3 at the halfway point, NZ collapsed spectacularly in the field. i find it amazing that they beat england convincingly on home turf.
