BOSTON—Catcher Jason Varitek's entrance into the Boston clubhouse Tuesday was punctuated by startled shouts and the clatter of dropped objects, as his Red Sox teammates explained that they had all just assumed the veteran player had died. i love how in the ny tabloids, they point out that ortiz only has 10 steals in his career.

and that's probably too many considering several times per season he goes for no reason and gets caught easily

yeah there's been a few wtf costly errors and it doesnt help that they've been playing hermida in the field and hall out of position but i think in the long run its not as much of a worry
