i love how in the ny tabloids, they point out that ortiz only has 10 steals in his career.

and that's probably too many considering several times per season he goes for no reason and gets caught easily

yeah there's been a few wtf costly errors and it doesnt help that they've been playing hermida in the field and hall out of position but i think in the long run its not as much of a worry

their catcher defense on the other hand is still a big problem

not great, and will be worse when today's game is factored in, but not terrible either, and all the slumping players except ortiz have BABIPs way below the average .300. drew's is .190

defensive efficiency: .708
so they're actually turning balls in play into outs at a slightly above average rate despite all the goofy errors!
