if you're going to call clubs that have been around for 50 years 'expansion' teams, you might as well include the entire junior circuit

My favourite player there is Gwynn. Statistically the best, in terms of WAR, my guess would be Brett or Bagwell, unless it's Ryan on sheer bulk.

I think expansions team have been at a disadvantage, even though some of them have been existing for 50+ now.

What kind of disadvantage? After the initial growing pains, wouldn't the disadvantages wear away with time and free agency?
