I turned the Barves-Reds game on late, but I get the impression there've been a lot of crappy, inconsistent calls behind the plate tonight.

I'm sure some Braves fans cussed out their TV on how the 9th and 10th went down.

The guy calling the game was calling a wide zone, but he did ring up both sides on it, it's just the Reds got caught on like 5 called strike threes that by the zone cast stuff said were balls.

How concerned are you with Dansby Swanson? Is he gonna be a guy who might take a year or two to start hitting better? We hear Brandon Crawford as a comp quite often and he was horrible with the bat for a long time.

Here’s the only major difference between 2016 Swanson and 2017 Swanson: 153 points of BABIP. Everything else is basically the same. Now, that does or could reflect worse contact quality, but Swanson was already far better in May than he was in April. He’s not a real good hitter. He should be an acceptable hitter. The hype got a little out of control because of how Swanson’s career opened

what the hell was up with the radar gun at last night's game? the braves pitchers were at least 5 mph fast but the marlins readings seemed to be accurate. newcomb looked pretty good though against a tough lineup.

Freddie Freeman to move to third after coming back from the DL from what I was reading. Article I was reading said he played it last in high school. Always curious to see how these things work out.

I'm still getting my head around the idea. I assume it was Freddie who leaked the idea to Mark Bowman/beat writers to put pressure on the team to let him do it, since he brought it up to Snitker and the front office 2 weeks ago.

At least one or two other team officials were believed to be in the crosshairs of the investigation. It’s unclear if more heads will roll either before or after MLB announces its findings and levies penalties that could include a heavy fine for the Braves, potential loss of players if rules were broken in their acquisition by the team and major restrictions on dealings in the international free-agent market, where the worst of the Braves’ alleged offenses occurred.

Meanwhile, word spread around the Braves’ offices soon after Coppolella’s forced resignation that he has hired a lawyer (or lawyers) and that lawsuits might be forthcoming. That’s surely caused plenty of sweating in certain departments with the Braves, as some fear that Coppolella might bring down others while attempting to show he, or he and Blakeley, didn’t act alone.

Underscoring that concern was a weekend report by the Macon Telegraph’s Bill Shanks, who wrote that he was told Coppolella was offered severance pay by the Braves. If true, that would seem a highly unusual step taken by a company with an employee forced to resign due to allegations of wrongdoing – even if, as president of baseball operations John Hart said in announcing Coppolella’s resignation, the offenses strictly involved MLB rules and not a criminal matter.
