Edison Field will be known as Angel Stadium for the 2004 season.

This is a very positive indicator in an age of the corporatization of baseball.

it's too bad that right here at home we're having to endure the change from one corp. name (and one which i finally came to terms with) to another as Pac Bell Park will now be SBC Park.

Candlestick Park was a great ballpark name.

I remember as a kid the local pantrys used to sell slushys that had ballplayers with a saying and a picture of their park on the plastic cup.

"Jack Clark Prowers the Spark at Candlestick Park"

That one was the best one, bar none.

It really cooks my grits that SBC must really trying to de-program everyone of the Pac Bell brandname that they couldn't go w/ SBC Pac Bell Park.
