Sale could spell end for A's stay in Oakland perhaps, maybe a local move (San Jose?) or even Las Vegas.

Frankly moving to San Jose (or down the peninsula) would probably be the best thing for the team (people ACTUALLY go to Sharks games downw there haha!) I'll be sad to see them go if it happens.

The Giants control the SF Peninsula/Santa Clara County market (according to Selig).

Considering that the A's AAA team in nearby Sacramento is the biggest minor league draw in the country, they might want to consider going out there as well.

Perhaps, but I'm not sure they still would if the A's moved there.

I gotta figure San Jose is a safer bet than Las Vegas or Sacramento, but maybe that's just me hoping they'll be close enough that I'll still be able to see some games.

Alex, not sure if you read the Chronicle and/or Contra Costa times but this has been a hot issue over the offseason:

Potential new owner wants A's in San Jose in new stadium
Giants owners say "No way, that's our turf"
Giants owners go to Selig
Selig says "No, that's Giants market"
A's ownership get huffy and says "Fine, I'll take them elsewhere"

I don't read either. Sucks for San Jose then, but I don't know why I would have expected Selig not to do something irritionally stupid.
