Dr M's end-of-season roadtrip

I'm taking the last week of Sept off, and (traveling by Chinatown buses most likely) am setting up an itinerary for

Mets at DC - Sunday 9/25
Yanks at Balt- Monday 9/26 (maybe)
Mets at Phila - Tues 9/27

with an option to add more games if the race is still going (drat the luck, I bet). Any advice from locals is welcome (cheapest mass transit option for DC-Balt?). I've been to Camden Yards and SBC before, and will spend 3-4 days in DC most likely. Obv I will buy the Philly and Oriole tix soon or hafta do StubHub I guess.

CBP not SBC! I was put up in a horrible hotel next to CBP this past November because my flight was snowed in, truly a horrible night except for getting to see the statue of Mike Schmidt.

China Basin Park??

Corporate alphabet soup, bah!

I got my O's-Yanks ticket. Maybe I can swing RFK/Camden Yards/Judge Roberts hearings...

Citizens Bank Park, Leee.

I've always wanted to go to Camden. I've heard it's really nice.

one month passes...
I'm sticking to the 3 games in 3 cities on Sun-Tue; too bad the only contenders involved are the Yanks and Phils. Assuming I can't get into Sufjan in Philly on Wednesday, I'll likely watch that game in a gay biker bar, perhaps attracting some rough bottoms if I wear Mets gear.

Should I wear my Bush WARLORD t-shirt to RFK?

YES!

where's that?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 22 September 2005 15:31 (eighteen years ago) link

TLA. A single show had tix available forever, but I postponed deciding.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 22 September 2005 15:44 (eighteen years ago) link

dunno that place, sorry bro.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 22 September 2005 15:52 (eighteen years ago) link

at the tla, look for people trying to sell their tickets out front. but be discreet, because it pisses the bouncers off. although, since the show has been sold out for a few weeks (i think), chances are good you won't be the only one looking to buy...

the leglo (the leglo), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:13 (eighteen years ago) link

Dat's OK, I like Sufjan OK but saw him last year.

Stenc, I'd be up for Piazza's finale @Shea on Oct 2, but not if there's an elimination game (eg NYY-BOS) on TV simultaneously.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:19 (eighteen years ago) link

oh right, now i remember where tla is. oct. 2 is maybe possible, depending on how moving goes the day before.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:35 (eighteen years ago) link

i was told that rfk opens its gates 90 minutes before game time...

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 22 September 2005 23:34 (eighteen years ago) link

Thx, but as yesterday was a night game there's no BP, I realize.

Off to see the SWEEP ATTEMPT! Fourth place, booya!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 25 September 2005 12:31 (eighteen years ago) link

My fave baseball weather -- overcast with no rain. Nice to see 2 mega-bombs from Piazza, and this was a highlight:

>>Nationals SS Cristian Guzman dropped a popup by Jacobs for an error in the second inning, drawing boos. When Guzman caught Cliff Floyd's popup at nearly the same spot in the sixth, it drew a sarcastic cheer.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 25 September 2005 22:22 (eighteen years ago) link

The Orioles are mighty dead-lookin', and really know how to ruin a guy's Monday night (all 6 hours of it). Ther funniest thing at midnight was the remaining Yankee fans heckling Alan Embree giving up 3 garbage-time runs. "CMON JOE, GETTIMOUTTADERE!"

I ate Boog's bbq in the rain.

Hahaha, I can't wait to gauge the bitterness of the Phillie fans...

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 27 September 2005 12:34 (eighteen years ago) link

They are indeed bitter. Jose Reyes rewarded me w/ 4 hits (2 doubles, triple). David Wright gets lots of attention from adolescent girls during BP.

Saw Howard Johnson throwing some BP -- did he manage in the Mets' system this year?

eight years pass...

end of the EXHIBITION season that is... I have the last weekend of the month off; the Pirates are playing in Philly on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Anyone want to go to one, followed by Dirty Frank's?

Was thinking of Baltimore for opening day, but I'm sure Boston fans have driven up all the StubHub tix.
