I opted instead for a used copy of 2K's MLB 2005 "World Series" Edition which has hot rookies, breakouts and trades. It's okay. $15, though not bad.

I like the new ballpark-creation feature, but I'm not sure I want to hear the ping of aluminum bats over and over.

Got this in the mail last night. The new batting control is kinda cool, new fielding controls are initially shitty. Might revert those back to classic mode.

Mufuckin Santa Clara (my uni) is in the game so Im happy with it. Wasnt expecting that.

two weeks pass...
So apparently EA lost their MLB license and this is why they released this game this year.

yep. which sucks cuz mvp was actually pretty stellar last year.

Im lighting fools up in my dynasty mode. I barely have time to play the mofo because I work until 2am every night, but I find my ways. The difficulty level is still akin to MVP because varsity is a bit too easy, next level a bit too hard. But I'd rather have starters with a K/9 rate of 12 and guys with a 1.200 OPS than get my ass kicked during the only downtime I have. The challenges you get every now and again are a nice addition. Gives a bit more meaning to certain series.

SO whats the deal with MLB games this year? No EA...so whats the one to get besides NCAA?

2K6. It looks okay but nothing special. They don't have ESPN branding but they do have a pretty nice stat system.

I just got pwned in my dynasty. Eventually made it to Omaha but didnt go all the way. 1/2 of my entire team proceeds to graduate and Im left with an army of scrubs because my school sucks at recruiting =( Unlike NCAA 06 good players dont automatically gravitate to teams finishing in the top 10.

one month passes...
I'm still playing MVP 05. There's a site mvpmods.com where you can download current rosters and patches that make the game more realistic (less homers, harder to paint the corners, etc.) But that's for PC, so you're kinda stuck with MLB 06 if you play on the consoles. MLB 06 for PS2 is pretty good though.
